How to view supported and unsupported SFP SFP+ or QSFP module transceiver details for dataplane interfaces
Objective
- This article covers few CLI commands to view installed SFP module transceiver details for dataplane interfaces
- The examples are from PA-5450
Environment
- Palo Alto Firewalls.
- PAN-OS 9.1 or above.
- SFP, SFP+ or QSFP Transceivers.
Procedure
CLI commands for different ports:
- debug system interface-xcvr-info aux-1
- debug system interface-xcvr-info aux-2
- debug system interface-xcvr-info log-1
- debug system interface-xcvr-info log-2
- debug system interface-xcvr-info ha1-a
- debug system interface-xcvr-info ha1-b
- debug system interface-xcvr-info management-a
- debug system interface-xcvr-info management-b
- show transceiver-detail <interface name> (for ethernet ports)
- show transceiver-detail all
NOTE: Currently, this does not work for HSCI ports.
Examples:
> show transceiver-detail ethernet2/23

IMPORTANT
1. You can monitor the status of transceivers in your physical appliance or device to enable easier installation and troubleshooting. Through transceiver monitoring, also known as digital optical monitoring (DOM), you can view diagnostics like transmitted bias current, transmitted power, received power, transceiver temperature, and power supply voltage.
See below for a list of devices that support transceiver monitoring.
- PA-800 Series
- PA-3200 Series
- PA-3400 Series
- PA-5200 Series
- PA-5400 Series
- PA-7000 Series
2. If you run commands on an incompatible transceiver, the CLI will return 'N/A' for any diagnostic information it cannot read.
3. The transceiver module must support Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) to display the diagnostic information.e.g
