Upgrade to FLEX Licensing from equivalent VM-XXX model expectations

Symptom


What is expected when upgrading to flex license from an equivalent vm model such as from VM-100 to FLEX 2vcpu. No reboot is needed as we are not changing the session count.

Environment


VM Environment going from ELA VM-XXX series firewalls to using the FLEX model
i.e.
VM-100 to FLEX with 2 VCPU's

Cause


N/A

Resolution


Since we are not changing the Session count on the firewall a restart is not needed. As long as the session count does not change on the firewall a reboot will not be needed, even if the serial number does change.
