Panorama VMware vCenter plugin tags not visible in Web GUI when creating a Dynamic Address Group (DAG)

Symptom


  • When creating a DAG in Panorama under Device Groups > Objects > Address Groups > Add,
  • The tags imported from VMware vCenter using the corresponding plugin are not visible in the Web GUI.

  • However, under Panorama > VMware vCenter > Monitoring Definition, Status "Success" can be observed.

Environment


  • VMware vCenter (any compatible version with Panorama plugin) 
  • Panorama VM (any compatible PAN-OS version) with compatible VMware vCenter plugin
  • Browser Extensions installed.

Cause


  • Some browser extensions block API calls between Panorama and vCenter
  • This prevents Panorama from receiving match criteria.

Resolution


  1. Disable the browser extensions and Synchronize Dynamic Objects.
  2. This will populate the tags available to Panorama.
