Symptom


  • Upgrade PAN-OS from 10.2.1 to 10.2.2
  • XML API responses timeout after upgrade. Example: XML API response times out as the XML API requests to log in a User and registers IP tags for Dynamic Address groups.

Environment


  • Palo Alto VM based Firewalls
  • PAN-OS-10.2.1- and 10.2.2
  • XML API.

Cause


open source module ngx_http_upload_module.c, which was introduced as Nginx build, had an issue due with parsing requests when using large header buffers

Resolution


  1. The issue is fixed in PAN-OS 10.2.3-h3 and above under PAN-19756.
  2. Upgrade to the preferred release will resolve the issue.
