Scheduled config push job does not work on Panorama

Symptom


  • Scheduled config Push has been configured on Panorama
  • Sometimes these Jobs fail to start
  • System logs (show log system) does not display these jobs.

Environment


  • Panorama with Managed Firewalls
  • PAN-OS - 10.1.5-H5
  • Scheduled Jobs for multi device group

Cause


  • Software issue causes configd crash.

Resolution


  1. The issue is fixed under PAN-206755 in 10.2.4, 10.1.9 and 11.0.1 releases
  2. Upgrade to the fixed PAN-OS versions or above will fix the issue
Workaround
  1. Perform a manual push and avoid a scheduled push.
  2. Avoid Multi-device group push.

Additional Information


  • Make sure all devices are in-sync.
  • When a scheduled config push is triggered, Configd should not be crashed.
