Symptom

When registering a VM against a deployment profile using steps at Register the VM Series , the total consumed amount is over by 0.1 credits

Environment

  • VM Series Firewall.
  • Software NGFW Credit Pool.
  • Customer Support Portal.

Cause

This is an expected behavior to stop the VM consumed amount from going into triple decimal places. This is explained in the example below.

Resolution

Example:

  1.  A deployment profile has been created with the total allocated amount of 30.59.
  2. This means if 2 VMs are registered the credit quantity used will be 15.295.
  3. The system does not allow for three decimal placs, therefore the first VM will register with 15.3,
  4. The next VM registered will be rounded down by 0.01 (15.29) to consume the correct amount of credits in total.
  5. This is an expected behavior to stop the VM consumed amount from going into triple decimal places.
  6. If you are receiving an error in relation to this above error or when registering an additional VM because there is not enough Credits left in your deployment profile open a Support Case via the Customer Support Portal and our Global Support Team will investigate this issue further.
