Symptom
When registering a VM against a deployment profile using steps at Register the VM Series , the total consumed amount is over by 0.1 credits
Environment
- VM Series Firewall.
- Software NGFW Credit Pool.
- Customer Support Portal.
Cause
This is an expected behavior to stop the VM consumed amount from going into triple decimal places. This is explained in the example below.
Resolution
Example:
- A deployment profile has been created with the total allocated amount of 30.59.
- This means if 2 VMs are registered the credit quantity used will be 15.295.
- The system does not allow for three decimal placs, therefore the first VM will register with 15.3,
- The next VM registered will be rounded down by 0.01 (15.29) to consume the correct amount of credits in total.
- This is an expected behavior to stop the VM consumed amount from going into triple decimal places.
- If you are receiving an error in relation to this above error or when registering an additional VM because there is not enough Credits left in your deployment profile open a Support Case via the Customer Support Portal and our Global Support Team will investigate this issue further.
