Symptom


LSVPN  Portal connection fails with error message "Invalid http response. "return error(Credential authentication failed; Retry authentication)".

Environment


  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • PAN-OS 9.1 and above
  • LSVPN

Cause


The error typically happens when the serial number of the satellite is not included in the portal configuration.

Resolution


  1. Add the Serial number of the satellite firewall (Step 2) in the portal configuration.
  2. Commit the changes.
