Question


  • "Apps Seen" counter under GUI: Policies > Security does not match when seen under Firewall and Panorama (under template).
  • Does this counter synchronize from managed firewalls to Panorama?

Environment


  • Panorama managed Palo Alto Networks firewalls
  • All PAN-OS versions.
  • Security Policy
  • Rule usage

Answer


  1. "Apps Seen" counter is calculated from the local logs and not synced between managed firewalls and Panorama.
  2. Panorama calculates Apps Seen counter independently from forwarded traffic summary logs.
