Unable to commit due to app validation error "application-status -> siemens-epoc 'siemens-epoc' is not a valid reference"

Symptom


When trying to commit, it fails with error:'siemens-epoc' is not a valid reference 

Validation Error:
application-status -> siemens-epoc 'siemens-epoc' is not a valid reference
application-status is invalid
Commit failed

Environment


  • Palo Alto 850 Firewall
  • PANOS-10.1.8
  • Commit

 

Resolution


  1. The issue is resolved under PAN-226935 in PAN-OS 10.1.12, 10.2.8, 11.0.4 and 11.1.0
  2. As a workaround Try "commit force" and see if it fixes the issue
  3. If the issue is unresolved and upgrade cannot be done, contact Support
