Question

Why aren't parent domains associated with Machine Learning and Generative AI categorized as Artificial Intelligence in PanDB?

Environment

  • Palo Alto Networks NGFW (Strata)

Answer

The parent domains of specific AI-related sites are typically landing pages for users who wish to log into those servers. Once access is granted, then a user is directed to a sub-domain that does provide AI/ML services. For instance, if one authenticates on the "openai.com" domain, they are then pointed to the sub-domain, "chat.openai.com/", which is classified as artificial intelligence in PanDB.
