Unable to export packet capture or device state from Panorama through context switch

Symptom


  • Login to Panorama.
  • Context switch to a managed Firewall.
  • Download either PCAP or device state.
  • Some of the files downloaded (PCAPs, Device State) always remain incomplete or corrupted.

Environment


  • Panorama
  • Context Switch
  • PAN-OS 10.1, 10.2, 11.0

Cause


Software issue.

Resolution


  1. The issue will be fixed in the upcoming release of PAN-OS version 10.1.12, 10.2.8 and 11.1.0.
  2. As a workaround login to the firewall locally instead of context switch from Panorama and download the PCAPs and device State.
  3. Refer to the Support PAN-OS Software Release Guidance to monitor the updates for the latest release.
