Why do I have to specify a project ID after running terraform apply when onboarding a GCP Organization?

  • Google Cloud Platform

Answer


The reason one will need to supply a Project ID after running terraform apply is because the service account which the terraform template creates will need to reside within a Project and not the Organization itself.
