Network interfaces down on newly deployed firewall in Alibaba cloud

Symptom
- After creating vpc, vswitches and v-nics, the firewall interfaces do not bind to the vswitch and remain down.
- Rebooting firewall does not fix things
Environment
- Platform: Alibaba Cloud
- PAN-OS version - On newer PAN-OS versions ( Issue was observed on firewalls running PAN-OS 10.1.7)
- Plugin version : Any
Cause
Newly deployed VM-series firewall running in Alibaba cloud has its network interfaces down after configuring the vpcs, vswitches and v-nics
Resolution
- Disable DPDK and reboot the firewall
Steps to be run on CLI:
Disable DPDK: > set system setting dpdk-pkt-io off
Reboot the firewall: > request restart system (can run this from firewall GUI as well by going to Device > Setup > Operations > Reboot Device)
Validate if changes are applied once firewall is up: > show system setting dpdk-pkt-io
