Objective


To troubleshoot port failures on ION devices before proceeding with the RMA.

Environment


  • Prisma SD-WAN
  • ION devices


Procedure


  1. Check the status of the port LEDs. When the Link is up, the port LED must be green.
  2. Check for loose or damaged data cables.
  3. If the problem is isolated to one port, then try swapping cables.
  4. Verify the speed/duplex setting on both sides of the link and modify the same if required. Make sure the speed/duplex setting on the UI and CLI are the same.
  5. Check Admin up/down configuration - make sure that the port is not set as "admin down:.
  6. Check router/service provider modem connection/interface status on directly connected device.
  7. Check for any alerts/alarms events in the UI.
  8. If the above does not help resolve the issue. Open a support case.

Commands to run on CLI for troubleshooting

  1. dump overview - Displays system output
  2. dump interface config <interface> - To check admin up/down status
  3. dump interface status <interface> - To check speed/duplex setting
