'Threat trend' graph in Panorama report doesn't populate data

Symptom


  • In Panorama a report group is scheduled for email under Monitor > Email Scheduler
  • The report group is configured with the predefined widget "Threat trend" under Monitor > Report Groups
  • When the PDF is emailed, the PDF contains the Threat Trend graph with blank data like this:

Environment


  • Panorama
  • All PAN-OS versions
  • Report Group configured with 'threat trend' predefined widget

Cause


  • A software defect prevents the predefined 'threat trend' widget from populating data

Resolution


  • Configure a custom 'threat trend' report which includes the same data
  • Use the custom report instead of the pre-defined widget in your emailed report group
  1. From Monitor > Manage PDF Summary configure a new 'custom-threat-trend' report with a threat-trend bar chart:

  2. Add the custom-threat-trend report to your report group under Monitor > Report Groups
  3. Schedule the new report group to be emailed under Monitor > Email Scheduler
