Adding a Raid disk on M-700 in 10.2 version displays "DXE Core Started" message on console with no GUI or CLI access.

Symptom


  • CLI, GUI and console access not possible after adding one RAID disk on M-700 appliance.
  • Rebooting with Console connected displays "DXE Core started --60" message.

 



Environment


  • Palo Alto Networks M-700
  • PAN-OS 10.2.x
  • RAID Disk


Cause


DMDB/DXE process crash causes the above issue.



Resolution


  1. This is a known issue documented under PAN-184406.
  2. Contact Palo Alto Support  to stop the dmdb process before adding a RAID disk pair to a M-700 appliance.
