Symptom

Mobile user gateway onboarding fails with general error message
An unexpected error occurred during commit. Retry the commit operation. If the issue persists, contact Palo Alto Networks support

Environment

  • Prisma Access Firewalls
  • PANOS-10.2.5
  • Mobile Users
  • Onboarding

Cause

  • One of the reasons for the error is the lack of IP Address Pools in a Mobile User.
  • Recommended number of IP addresses in the pool is 2 times the number of mobile user devices that will connect to Prisma Access.
  • In Panorama, the UI validates that you enter valid IP subnets, but does not check if sufficient IP addresses are allocated for deployment.

Resolution

  • Configure sufficient IP Address Pools
  • Retry Commit again and the error should be resolved.
