After Panorama upgrade to 11.0.1, cloud commits fail with the following error "plugins unexpected here" and "vsys is invalid"

Symptom


  • Unable to commit to the PA backend even after upgrade/downgrade of cloud plugins
  • The commit/device group push operation from Panorama fails with the following error on managed firewalls. 
    vsys -> vsys1 -> plugins unexpected here
vsys is invalid

Cause


Software Issue.
 

Resolution


  1. The issue is fixed under PAN-219686 in PAN-OS 11.0.2 and above
  2. Upgrade to the fixed code will resolve the issue.
