  • An Error message "error failed to run "docker rm". got error: [exit status 125]" is displayed in the log bundle.
  • This means the docker failed to remove the container from /home directory.
2024-05-14 07:05:06.7893 error failed to run "docker rm". got error: [exit status 125], stderr: [time="2024-05-14T07:05:06+05:30" level=error msg="cleaning up storage: removing container 04b089aad2704785b9d974b915fe04b0cc45f3ca219919ff8d27d7aeca85cc2a root filesystem: unmounting \"/home/demisto/.local/share/containers/storage/overlay/58bb104a71412811c874417f0325f7a56e124ddcaeea6150c35a9cb9d842d9a0/merged\": invalid argument"

    Environment

    • Cortex XSOAR
    • Version 6.x
    • Web Console

    Cause

    • Disk space in the /home directory is almost full.
    • Since the /home directory is where the podman stores all container files and images, the disk full impacts the podman operations.
    • This can be verified by using SSH and checking the disk usage of /home directory using the command below.
      df -h

    Resolution

    1. Remove all the images temporarily to free out some spaces.
    2. Test the command below and validate the command is actually deleted the podman images:
    for i in `podman images -a -q`; do echo "podman rmi -f $i"; done
    1. Execute the command :
    for i in `podman images -a -q`; do podman rmi -f $i ; done
    1. This will temporary free out the space of the /home directory but the issue will reoccur again if the disk space of /home is not increased.
    2. The permanent fix of this issue is increase the disk space of /home directory.
