Environment

  • PA-7000 series
  • After an SMC reboot
  • SMC-A card only

Cause

The issue is caused by initialization sequence among internal SMC components that is cleared by reboot. This issue is very infrequent, it only occurs after SMC is rebooted and it is only applicable for SMC-A card and not for SMC-B card.

Resolution

  1. If the failure signature in the symptoms is observed, we recommend to reboot the chassis to clear the HSCI state.
