Symptom
- Root partition usage keeps exceeding the threshold.
- Aggressive-cleaning is enabled, but still it does not help.
- The usage is not changed after running disk-usage cleanup commands or without any core files.
Environment
- Next-Generation Firewalls
- PAN-OS 10.2 and later
Cause
- One of the reason is due to the storage of some log files in /tmp/DT/logs directory.
- This directory is used by generating Device Telemetry bundle package, and the contains logs are the copy of the logs under /var/log/pan.
- Since this directory is out-of-scope of Aggressive cleaning or other cleanup commands, the usage remains high.
Resolution
- The issue is resolved under PAN-256223 in 10.2.11, 11.1.5, 11.2.3 and higher version.
- Upgrade to the fixed versions will resolve the issue.
- For workaround, contact Support to get the logs removed after disable of Device Telemetry.
