Symptom
- Element image cannot be upgraded due to mismatched app supported engines.
- Could not save stack Default Path Simple Stack (Simple): Invalid stack configuration due to mismatched app supported engines with the sites's assigned elements.
Environment
- Prisma SD-WAN
Cause
- If element is binded to CGNX only based appdefs and trying to upgrade to 6.0.x and above.
- If element is binded to new PANOS based appdef and trying to downgrade to pre 6.0.x image and below.
- If element is pre 6.0.x and selected application in path policy is only supported in 6.0.x and above.
- If element is 6.0.x and selected application in path policy is only supported in pre 6.0.x.
Resolution
- Starting with device release 6.0.x, Prisma SD-WAN does not support original/legacy policies.
- If original or legacy policies are configured, migrate legacy policies to stacked policies before upgrading ION device to release 6.x.
- Refer to Prisma SD-WAN to PAN-OS (PANW) App-ID Name Mapping for the App-ID mapping between Legacy and 6.x versions.
Additional Information
If the application names are not listed, create a Custom Application for that application after the upgrade.
