Objective


  • How can the current Logging Service on the firewall be disabled to prevent logs from being forwarded to the Logging Service in the cloud?


Environment


  • PAN Firewalls
  • Logging Service License
  • Supported PANOS versions


Procedure


  • Execute the following step from the GUI:
    • Disable "Enabled Cloud Logging" and "Enhanced Application Logging" under Device -> Setup -> Management -> Cloud Logging (if Panorama: On the Template Stack or Template ).
    • Push the updated template stack configuration to the designated firewall (if configured on the Template Stack or Template).
  • Execute the following commands from the CLI prompt:
    • > configure
    • # set deviceconfig setting logging logging-service-forwarding enable no 
    • # commit 
    • # exit
  • To confirm, locate the following entry in the output of this command: request logging-service-forwarding status
    • Logging Service forwarding enabled: No
