Symptom


  • When you try to replace a Prisma SD-WAN ION device, the bypass pair configurations cannot be migrated with the following error.
    "warning": "Unable to create bypass pair since potential replacement wan member has existing configurations"

Environment


  • Prisma SD-WAN
  • ION Devices

Cause


  • RMA wizard will skip bypass pair creation if the potential members on the replacement device have any configurations.
  • Example: For ION 1200-S, all ports are DHCP-enabled by default as per this document.

Resolution


Configure the bypass pair after completing RMA wizard.
