Question


Packets on Management Interface can be captured using tcpdump CLI command. Here what is the maximum size of a mgmt-pcap file?
 

Environment


  • Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Panorama
  • Any PAN-OS

Answer


  1. The maximum size of a mgmt-pcap file is 20 Mbytes.
  2. The Firewalls can store only one pcap file for tcpdump.
  3. Using more specific filter to capture the traffic will help avoid missing the desired packet in the capture due to the limit.
