Symptom

  • The customer can't obtain the WildFire verdict and WildFire analysis report for EMAIL LINK from the wildfire cloud via WildFire API for Email LINK.
  • The API request results in "Report not found". The example of WildFire API for Email LINK originally used by the customer is "curl -F 'apikey=APIKey' -F 'hash=sha256 of EMAIL LINK that the firewall submitted to the wildfire cloud' API Endpoints".
  • After new URL analyzer has been launched on all of Wildfire regional clouds, WildFire API for Email LINK has been obsoleted and WildFire API for new URL analyzer has been released.

Environment

  • PANOS 8.1
  • PANIS 9.0
  • PANOS 9.1
  • PANOS 10.0
  • The customer is using WildFire API to get the WildFire verdict and WildFire analysis report for EMAIL LINK.

Cause

  • The API request results in "Report not found". In this case the example of WildFire API for Email LINK originally used by the customer must be like "curl -F 'apikey=APIKey' -F 'hash=sha256 of EMAIL LINK that the firewall submitted to the wildfire cloud API Endpoints''.
  • The customer need to change their Wildfire API request that is originally used to adapt the WildFire API for new URL analyzer. For example, If the customer's Wildfire API request for Email LINK is "curl -F 'apikey=APIKey' -F 'hash=sha256 API Endpoints",  the customer need to change it to "curl -F 'apikey=APIKey' -F 'url=targetURL' API Endpoints". The API Endpoints in Wildfire API for EMAIL LINK is usually specified as "/get/verdict" or "/get/report". The customer don't need to change any of endpoints in the API to adapt WildFire API for new URL analyzer. They need to change 'hash=sha256" to "url=targetURL" only.
