Objective


This article is for not able to download antivirus file; generic communication error.
Error can be found here:
mp ms.log <date and times removed> -0500 Error: _get_content_version_info(pan_ops_content.c:727): Bad update information on disk

Environment


This is on the firewall when trying to get content updates to download.

Procedure


  1. First you will need to run the following commands:
    • ---------------------------
    • > debug swm rebuild-content-db
    • > debug software restart process device-server
    • Wait for a minute or two.
    • > configure
    • # commit force
    • ---------------------------
  2. Please do this after production hours and in off production hours as possible.
