How to Generate a custom report to output all the security policies

Objective


This article covers how you can generate a report of all security policies on the firewall.

Environment


  • Palo Alto Firewall
  • PAN-OS 8.1 and above

Procedure


The custom report can be generated in CSV or PDF format following the steps below:
  1. Go to GUI: Policies >Security.
  2. At the bottom of the page, click on PDF/CSV.
  3. In the Popup window, Enter a filename for the report.
  4. Select the file type in the dropdown (PDF or CSV).
  5. Specify the Page size and description(Optional) if you are using the PDF file type.
  6. To include all columns, click the "show all columns" link to clear all filters.

7. Then click on Export.

This will export the rules and the fields in a PDF format which can be downloaded for review.

Additional Information


The same steps can be applied to generate a custom report of any policy type under the policies tab (Security, NAT, Decryption, etc).
