Question

  • How to configure Data Center and Service Groups in Prisma SD-WAN Portal?

Environment

  • Prisma SD-WAN

Answer

  • Data center and service groups are created and mapped by an organization to meet its requirements. After sites are created, they then are mapped to their respective domain, data center, or service groups.
  • Within policy, the data center or service group then is configured for the given application or traffic flow.
  • If the data center or service group is required to flow through a given instance for inspection, then the Required check box would be enabled.
1. Define primary and backup Prisma SD-WAN data centers groups per domain for simplified policy management.

1

2. Reference the data center group in policy rules and the branch site to which the domain is bound and that will determine the definition of the group.

2

3. Enable Required check box and that will forces traffic to use the service or DC group referenced even if a direct path is available.
  • If the box is left unchecked and there is a direct path allowed and available, the system will optionally use the transit path with preference given to the direct path if the SLA is met.
