Question
How are you able to track metrics for Layer 3 reachability, Layer 7 reachability for a given application, Round Trip available bandwidth, Application performance metrics such as MOS, Transaction Error Rate and Transaction Time if there is no appliance at the target end? It seems that other SD-WAN providers are not always able to add value without a target appliance.
Answer
We track at the session level, which means we are able to correlate all traffic and application transactions from a single endpoint. It is true that other vendors generally require a head-end which is a key limitation of traditional packet-based architecture.
