In the CloudGenix model, the branch will choose the path that is expected to give optimal roundtrip performance. The head-end device will respect the decision made by the branch for the given session. In a traditional packet-routed model, the branch and data center path selection decisions are made independently and based only upon uni-directional information. Hence, the introduction of asymmetry.
