What are the licensing requirements for WildFire Inline ML, and what is the expected behavior if the Threat Prevention license expires?

- Palo Alto Networks firewall.
- PAN-OS 10.0.2 and above.
- WildFire Inline ML (Machine Learning) models enabled.
Answer
- WildFire Inline ML requires a valid WildFire license.
- WildFire Inline ML does not require a valid Threat Prevention license, therefore a valid Threat Prevention license is not required for it to function.
- If the Threat Prevention license expires, and the WildFire license is active, the expected behavior is for WildFire Inline ML to continue to function.
Additional Information
There was an issue that prevented WildFire Inline ML to function without a Threat Prevention license in PAN-OS 10.0.0 and 10.0.1. This issue (PAN-153210) is resolved in PAN-OS 10.0.2.
