How To Manually Backup Your Prisma Access Configuration Managed By Panorama

Objective


With this article you will be able to take a backup of your Prisma Access configuration on Panorama and be able to locate the config within the .xml backup file which also contains the config of Panorama. 

Environment


  • Panorama
  • Prisma Access

Procedure


The Prisma Access backup config is combined with the Panorama config so you you will need to take a backup of your Panorama config.

To take a backup of the configuration
  1. Log into the Panorama GUI that manages your Prisma Access
  2. Navigate to Panorama>Setup>Operations
  3. Next to Export click : Export named Panorama configuration snapshot
  4. Click the Drop-down arrow and select: running-config.xml 
  5. Leave "Select Device Groups & Templates" unchecked (this is for only backing up selected DG and Templates)
  6. Click OK
To find find the Prisma Access config within the backup file.
  1. Open the "running-config.xml" file you just exported above
  2. Search within the .xml for "cloud_services version"
  3. This will take you to the beginning of the Prisma Access configuration
