Objective


How to configure the DHCP options 43 and 150 in Prisma SD-WAN?

Environment


  • Prisma SD-WAN 
  • DHCP options
  • ION Devices


Procedure


To configure the DHCP options 43 and 150 on Prisma SD-WAN Portal.
  1. Go to Sites.
  2. Under Configuration, click on 'Configure DHCP Scope'
  3. Under DHCP Server Configuration > Custom Option, add these 2 Options.
  4. Save and Exit

Additional Information


  • DHCP clients and servers use option 43 to exchange provider-specific configuration information.
  • A DHCP client can obtain the following information via option 43: ACS parameters including ACS URL, username, and password.
  • On the other hand, DHCP Option Object 150 (RFC 5859) is used by VoIP phones to obtain the address of a VoIP configuration server, typically from a TFTP server.
  • If the Sophos Firewall is configured as a DHCP server on your network, the VoIP phone will send a DHCP request with object 150 to the firewall to get the TFTP server address.
