How to disable Path Monitoring Destination settings without removing the destination IP addresses

Objective


When you disable the Path Monitoring Destination settings once, all destination IP addresses will be deleted.
This is introduced by PAN-151909, and it is an expected behavior for now avoiding another issue.
Describe how to disable Path Monitoring Destination settings without removing the destination IP addresses.


Environment


  • PAN-OS platforms
  • 9.1.10 and later
  • 10.0.1 and later


Procedure


  1. Move to Network > Virtual Routers > Click the specific Virtual Router > Static Routes
  2. Click an existing route which you would like to disable monitoring
  3. Stay Enable the Path Monitoring checkbox
  4. Click the name of the monitoring entry and uncheck the Enable checkbox then click OK to close the Path Monitoring Destination window
  5. Take the same action on all destination entries which you would like to disableĀ 
  6. After setting changes, perform a commit to apply these changes


Additional Information


Note: This behavior cannot be seen if the firewall is running on PAN-OS 10.1 or 10.2, but it will be changed future.
