How to Generate and Export Logs from the Cloud Identity Agent?

Objective


Generate and export logs from Cloud Identity Agent for troubleshooting purposes.



Environment


  • Cloud Identity Agent
  • On-premise directory
  • Workstation/server hosting Cloud Identity Agent


Procedure


1. Set the logging Level to Debut or Verbose as required. Open the Cloud Identity Agent and click on File > Debug.

2. Wait for a few seconds/minutes for a new connection attempt from Cloud Identity Agent to the Cloud Identity Engine (CIE). You can check the logs and new connection in the Cloud Identity Engine > Monitoring > Log section
3. Locate the log files by opening up the File Explorer context and navigating to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Palo Alto Networks\Cloud Identity Agent". The file names are "CloudIdAgentDebug.log"

4. Copy the files to a separate location for analysis and upload to the case as required.
