What cable should be used between HA ports in a High Availability setup?

Environment


  • Palo Alto Firewalls
  • PAN-OS 9.1 and above
  • High Availability (HA) configuration
  • HA1/HA2 ports

Answer


  1. When the HA Peers are directly connected using dedicated HA Ports, Use a crossover cable for connectivity.
  2. When the peers do not have dedicated HA ports use the normal ethernet cable for HA connectivity.
