Question

What connections are generated from ADEM agent for an app test?

Environment

  • Prisma Access
  • ADEM (Autonomous DEM)

Answer

  1. Document frequency-of-test-runs explains all the types of ADEM (Autonomous DEM) connections.
  2. Based on the test runs the estimated number of test traffic sent from Prisma Access can be calculated.

Note:
  • The source IP address of the test traffic will be the Infrastructure subnet ( = loopback IPs assigned to the MU instances)
  • The number of test traffic sent from Prisma Access is increased according to the number of instances in the tenant. Example, if there are 10 GPGW instances in 10 different compute locations, each 3 types of test traffic will be sent from the 10 GPGW's loopback IP addresses to each destination address.
  • This test traffic is not logged on the cloud firewall's traffic log. Check the test traffic on the network device running in front of the target IP.
  • A network address is not supported as a target IP.
