Azure: Tag names containing spaces are being dropped by Panorama Plugin as a special character

Symptom


  • Panorama is deployed in Azure and monitoring definitions are configured to learn addresses on Dynamic Address Groups (DAG's)
  • IP addresses for Azure VM instances with user defined tags are not learnt in DAG's

  • Panorama Plugin: azure-2.0.1

Cause


User-defined tag names containing spaces are being dropped by the plugin considering as a special character

Resolution


  1. Issue has been fixed with the Panorama plugin for Azure version 2.0.2.
  2. Spaces and special characters in user-defined tags are now treated differently.
  3. With this fix, user-defined tags containing empty spaces can be retrieved, provided they do not include special characters.
