Question
Can ingestion interval time be reduced and can it be decreased below the default?
Environment
- Prisma Cloud
- Ingestion
- CSPM
Answer
- The ingestion scan frequency occurs on average around every 15-20 minutes. In general this interval time might vary from one production stack to another. For example it might depend on:
- # cloud accounts
- # of integrations enabled
- user attribution enabled
This is not a configurable option at the time, meaning we cannot reduce the interval time below the default value. However, if the customer is experiencing any API throttling issues, we can adjust the ingestion time by reducing the frequency with which we ingest data. The Customer needs to raise a TAC case along with the justification for this action to be performed.

Additional Questions:
Question: Is there any way to see API ingestion completion/failure?
Answer: no progress bar today. However, customers could see the ingestion errors from the Cloud Accounts page, and that info is also available via API.
Question: Is it possible execute a “on-demand API ingestion”?
Answer: no ability to execute "on demand" scans today.
Answer: no ability to execute "on demand" scans today.
Question:Is the ingestion time frame configurable by changing a variable?
Answer: there is no "hard coded" ingestion time frame. It varies per service, per account, per region, etc. This is why we usually say an "average" of about 15 min. It could be as low as 5 min, or as long as 30 min, depending on system load, last scan cycle, etc.
