Panorama Preview Changes report "Failed to generate candidate vs running config diff file"

Symptom
- Commit changes to Panorama
- Push changes to managed firewalls from Panorama
- From the push scope window, select Preview Changes
- The Preview Changes window opens and displays "Failed to generate candidate vs running config diff file"
Environment
- Panorama
- PAN-OS
Cause
Communication issue between the management servers of both Panorama and the managed device
Resolution
Restart the management server on both Panorama and any affected firewalls
From the CLI:
> debug software restart process management-server
Note: The impact of this command are the following:
- Please commit any pending local changes before restarting mgmt server or they may be lost.
- SSH and WebUI access will be down for the duration of the mgmt server restart
- There is NO impact to dataplane traffic
