Question


When you have a pair of Firewalls deployed on Azure in HA Active/Passive can you have more than one floating IP address?

Environment


PA-VM in Azure.

Answer


  • Yes, you can have more than one floating IP on PA-VM firewalls in High Availability Active/Passive on Azure.
  • The Azure HA failover on PA-VM firewalls will work without any issue with multiple floating IPs.
  • Except for the primary IP attached on the dataplane interface of PA-VM firewall, all other secondary floating IPs will de-attach and attach to secondary active VM firewall.
