Panorama vm fail to migrate system disk in VMware ESXi

Symptom


  • To clone panorama OS disk to a larger size to fulfill requirement of 224 GB in later panorama releases
  • >request system clone-system-disk target sdb   CLI command was able to go through and cloned system to sdb
  • Upon bootup,  below error is seen-

           panorama fail to migrate system disk

Environment


  • Panorama vm on  VMware ESXi

Cause


  • Panorama not reading the cloned OS disk while old OS is still attached to VM

Resolution


  • Removed the original system disk sda from vSphere and boot up with only the cloned disk. Panorama should be able to boot up
