How to save the GlobalProtect Username along with the userdomain

Objective


  • When logging into GlobalProtect App, the prompt displays "Username" and "Password"
  • The article provides configuration step to save the GlobalProtect Username along with the userdomain
  • The app then presents the userdomain when the user is prompted for credentials.

Environment


  • GlobalProtect App.
  • GP App versions 5.2 or higher
  • Authentication.

Procedure


  1. Configure the "User Domain" and "Username Modifer" of the Authentication Profile that is used for GP Portal/Gateway as follows.
    • ​​​​GUI: Device > Authentication Profile > Authentication > User Domain: <user-domain>
    • GUI: Device > Authentication Profile > Authentication > Username Modifier: None

  1. Enters the Username along with the User Domain while logging into the GP initially. Now the the userdomain is saved and prompted as shown in the example below.
