How to find the Distribution ID within the Traps Management Service (TMS)

Objective


This article will walk you through the steps to finding and confirming your Distribution ID within the Traps Management Service (TMS).

Environment


Traps Management Service
FireFox

Procedure


  1. Login to the TMS, navigating to your Agent Installations tab
  2. Once the Agent Installations page, press F12 on your keyboard to inspect the webpage and select the Network tab.
  3. Refresh the webpage, allowing it to completely load.
    1. Note: This will cause the Network tab to populate with entries.
  4. Within the Filter URLs search field in the Network tab, search for "distributions" to narrow down the number of objects.
  5. Click on the entry that displays text similar to "distributions?isHidden", this will open another set of tabs on the right.
  6. From the newly created set of tabs, select the Response tab.
    1. Note: This will display information regarding the current packages available for installation.
  7. Within the Response tab, the "guid:" value under each entry will be your Distribution ID.
