Question
Can configuration be synchronized between Active and Passive when commit lock is on?
Environment
- Any firewalls.
- Any Panorama (VM and M-Series).
- PAN-OS 8.1 and above.
Answer
The configuration will not be synchronized for either Active or Passive firewalls when the commit lock is on.
To get the configuration to synchronized, the commit lock needs to first removed.
Note: The commit queue does not accept new commits until all locks are released.
This lock prevents collisions that can occur when multiple administrators make changes during concurrent login sessions and one administrator finishes and initiate a commit before the other administrators have finished.
