Symptom


 Commit failed with Error:   Error: loop detected for profile.

Environment


  • Any PAN-OS.
  • Palo Alto Firewall.
  • HIP Profile configured.

Cause


The Hip profile has the same name as the Hip Object. Example shown below

Resolution


Change the name of the HIP profile to a different name using GUI:Objects > Global Protect - HIP Profiles  > (configured profile)
