Symptom

Any traffic traversing through the VM-Series firewall encounters latency with global counters 'pkt_tp_status_def' and 'pkt_sent_dev_err'

  • From CLI, run the counter “show counter global filter delta yes”

> show counter global filter delta yes

value     rate severity  category  aspect    description
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
pkt_tp_status_def                       1520      375 drop      packet    pktproc   Packet with default TP status
pkt_sent_dev_err                        8126     2006 error     packet    pktproc   Packet transmit error dev down/not connected

  • Notice counters 'pkt_tp_status_def' and 'pkt_sent_dev_err' are persistent in the above output
