After installation of Log forwarding card on a PA-7000 Series, traffic, threat and other environment logs are not visible locally

Symptom


  • After replacement or installation of a Log forwarding card on a PA-7000, under Monitor > Logs only management logs (Configuration, System, and Alarms) are visible.
  • ACC Tab is also now removed.

Environment


  • PA - 7000 series using B Line Cards such as SMC-B, NPC-100 and LFC
  • Log Forwarding Card
  • Pan-OS - 9.0.x and beyond

Cause


  • This is an expected behavior when migrating from a log processing card to a log forwarding card.
  • The Log forwarding card is created with Log collector/Mixed mode panorama log ingestion in mind.

Resolution


Expected Behavior on new 7000 series chassis line cards for 9.0.x
