Symptom


Upon upgrading ESXi hosts from 6.0 to 6.7, the VM-Series firewall is not re-deployed.

  • Verify OVF URL is present for updated ESXi version 6.7 under NSX > Service Definition > Service Instances > Manage > Deployment as shown in above screenshot

Environment


  • Platform: Panorama 
  • Deployment: Operations Centric

Cause


  • Service deployment are based on the OVF path defined under NSX > Service Definition > Service Instances > Manage > Deployment
  • VMware failed to insert the service deployment profile associated with the newer ESXi version after the upgrade. 

 

Resolution


  • Manually add the ESXi version 6.7 service deployment profile under the Service Definition> Deployment
